Biography
Richard Whitley is an American screenwriter, producer, lyricist and actor. He was born in 1948 in Elmhurst, Illinois.
Whitley began his career writing the screenplay for the film Rock 'n' Roll High School (1979). His subsequent television writing credits include episodes of Delta House (1979), Homefront (1992–1993), Space: Above and Beyond (1996), Roseanne (1997), Millennium (1998), Recess (1999), Roswell (2000), Lloyd in Space (2001–2002) and Pound Puppies (2012). He has also written for TV Nation and contributed to National Lampoon.
Whitley has taught screenwriting at UCLA Extension and hour-long television drama writing at Columbia College.
