Biography

Richmond Harding (1923–2010) was a British television director and producer. After service in the Second World War, he worked as an assistant director on films including Scott of the Antarctic (1948), Passport to Pimlico (1949) and Whisky Galore! (1949).

He directed seven episodes of the series The Avengers in 1962 and 1963, and is credited with the idea of dressing Honor Blackman as Catherine Gale in black leather. Harding also produced and directed episodes of The World of Tim Frazer (1961) and later directed episodes of Coronation Street (12 episodes in 1965), Z Cars, Swizzlewick and other series.
