Biography
Richard Bartlett Schroder, known professionally as Ricky Schroder or Rick Schroder, is an American actor and filmmaker. Born on 13 April 1970 in Brooklyn, New York, and raised on Staten Island, he began acting as a child.
He made his film debut in The Champ (1979), for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best New Male Star of the Year. As a child he starred in the sitcom Silver Spoons (1982–1987). As an adult, billed as Rick Schroder, he appeared in the miniseries Lonesome Dove (1989) and played Danny Sorenson on NYPD Blue (1998–2001). He made his directorial debut with Black Cloud (2004).
