Biography
Rob Long is an American television writer and producer. He began his career as a screenwriter on the sitcom Cheers in 1990 and served as co-executive producer in its final seasons from 1991 to 1993.
Long has created several series with writing partner Dan Staley, including George and Leo (1997), Love & Money (1999) and Men, Women & Dogs (2001). He later worked as showrunner on Kevin Can Wait and as creator and producer on Sullivan & Son (2012–2014). He received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his work on Cheers and a Writers Guild of America award.
Long is also a contributing editor at National Review and has written for publications including The Wall Street Journal. He hosts the radio commentary series 'Martini Shot' on KCRW and has published books on his television experiences.
