Biography
Rob Long is an American writer and television producer. He began his career as a screenwriter on the sitcom Cheers in 1990 and served as co-executive producer in its final seasons from 1991 to 1993.
With writing partner Dan Staley he created the series George and Leo (1997), Love & Money (1999) and Men, Women & Dogs (2001). He later worked as executive producer on Kevin Can Wait (2016–2018) and co-created Sullivan & Son (2012–2014). Long has received Emmy and Golden Globe nominations and a Writers Guild of America award.
He is a contributing editor at National Review and has written for The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek International and other publications. Long hosts the radio commentary series Martini Shot on KCRW and has published the books Conversations with My Agent and Set Up, Joke, Set Up, Joke.
