Biography
Robert A. Harris is an American film historian, archivist and preservationist. Working frequently with James C. Katz, he has restored a number of classic films, including Lawrence of Arabia (1962, restored 1989), Vertigo (1958, restored 1996), Rear Window (1954, restored 2000), My Fair Lady (1964, restored 1994) and both parts of The Godfather (restored 2008).
Harris produced the feature films The Grifters (1990) and Alien Space Avenger (1989). He has appeared as himself in several documentaries on film restoration and history, among them These Amazing Shadows (2011). In 2010 he received the Nikola Tesla Award from the International Press Academy for visionary achievement in filmmaking technology.
