Biography
Robert Bavin, also credited as Rob Bavin, is a New Zealand-based production designer and art director. He has worked in the art department for more than 25 years on international productions filmed in New Zealand, progressing through roles including props, standby props and assistant art director before becoming an art director and production designer.
Bavin received an Art Directors Guild award in 2010 as part of the team on Avatar (2009) and was nominated again in 2023 for Avatar: The Way of Water (2022). His art direction credits include The Meg (2018), Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018), 30 Days of Night (2007) and The Shannara Chronicles (2016). As production designer he has worked on the series One of Us Is Lying (2022) and the film Heart Eyes (2025).
