Biography
Robert David MacDonald (also credited as Robert David McDonald) was a Scottish actor and writer. He appeared as Lumsden in the 1994 film Shallow Grave and took supporting roles in television series including Scarlet and Black (1993), Doctor Finlay (1996), Madson (1996) and Kavanagh QC (1998).
MacDonald was born on 27 August 1929 in Elgin, Scotland, and died on 19 May 2004. He also worked extensively in theatre as a playwright, translator and director, notably as co-artistic director of the Citizens Theatre in Glasgow from 1970 until 2003.
