Biography
Robert Favart was a French actor born on 19 February 1911 in Alexandria, Egypt. He appeared in numerous films and television productions from the 1930s to the 1980s, often in supporting roles.
He is credited as the bartender in Jean-Pierre Melville's Le Samouraï (1967). Other film appearances include Le Cercle Rouge (1970) as the salesman at Mauboussin, Max and the Junkmen (1971) as Loiselle, and The Day of the Jackal (1973) as a minister. He also worked as a writer and playwright.
Favart was married to stage costume illustrator Jenny Carré and was the father of director Michel Favart. He wrote the memoir Revoir Alexandrie. He died on 26 July 2003 in Nogent-sur-Marne, France.
