Biography
Robert Festinger is an American screenwriter and director. He studied filmmaking at New York University and worked as a script reader at HBO Films, where he discovered the short story "Killings" by Andre Dubus.
Festinger co-wrote the screenplay for In the Bedroom (2001) with Todd Field. He later wrote the screenplays for Trust (2010) and Hampstead (2017), and directed the short film The Procession (2012).
For In the Bedroom, Festinger received an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as a National Board of Review award and a Golden Satellite Award for Best Screenplay.
