Biography

Robert Fyvolent is an American film producer and entertainment lawyer. He produced the documentary Summer of Soul (...Or, When the Revolution Could Not Be Televised) (2021), directed by Questlove and built from 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival footage, alongside David Dinerstein and Joseph Patel. The film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and a Grammy Award for Best Music Film.

Fyvolent is from Tampa, Florida. He studied political science at Tulane University and law at South Texas College of Law and Loyola Law School. He worked as counsel at Disney and Sony Pictures Entertainment, then headed business and legal affairs at Newmarket Films. He shares a writing credit on the thriller Untraceable (2008).
