Biography

Robert Llewellyn is a British actor, comedian, presenter and writer. He was born on 10 March 1956 in Northampton, England.

He is best known for playing the mechanoid Kryten in the science-fiction sitcom Red Dwarf, a role he took on from the third series in 1989. He has also contributed writing to the series, including co-writing the 1997 episode "Beyond a Joke". Llewellyn first came to the attention of the show's producers through his one-man stage show Mammon, Robot Born of Woman at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.

His other television work includes presenting Scrapheap Challenge and the YouTube series Fully Charged on clean energy and electric vehicles. He has appeared in films such as MirrorMask (2005) and voiced characters in Christmas Carol: The Movie (2001), and has written books and stage material.
