Biography
Robert Lord (1900–1976) was an American screenwriter and film producer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he began writing for films in the mid-1920s and worked extensively at Warner Bros. from 1927 until 1941.
He received an Academy Award for Best Original Story for One Way Passage (1932) and a nomination in the same category for Black Legion (1937). As a producer, his credits include Flirtation Walk (1934), Gold Diggers of 1933 (1933) and later independent productions such as In a Lonely Place (1950).
Lord also served as associate producer or production supervisor on numerous Warner Bros. films in the 1930s and 1940s before joining Santana Productions in the late 1940s.
