Biography
Robert Milasch (also credited as Robert E. Milasch, R.E. Milasch, Robert Milash and R.E. Milash) was an American character actor active from 1903 to 1951. Born in New York City, he began his working life in circuses before joining the Edison Manufacturing Company, where he appeared in two roles in the 1903 short The Great Train Robbery.
In the silent era he took credited parts in films including Under the Greenwood Tree (1918), Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage Patch (1919) and Peter Pan (1924). During the sound period his appearances were almost entirely uncredited, among them roles in Frankenstein (1931), Island of Lost Souls (1932), Mr. Deeds Goes to Town (1936), Young Mr. Lincoln (1939), Sergeant York (1941), My Darling Clementine (1946) and They Were Expendable (1945). He claimed to have appeared in around 3,000 films.
Milasch died in 1954 in California.
