Biography
Robert Richman, also credited as Bob Richman, is an American cinematographer specialising in documentary films. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City. He began his career as a production assistant for Albert and David Maysles and later worked as a camera assistant and operator on their projects before becoming a director of photography.
Richman has served as cinematographer or director of photography on numerous documentaries, including An Inconvenient Truth (2006), Metallica: Some Kind of Monster (2004), the Paradise Lost trilogy (1996–2012), The September Issue (2009) and Whitey: United States of America v. James J. Bulger (2014). He has received Emmy nominations for his work.
