Biography
Robert Russell was an American screenwriter and playwright. He received story and screenplay credits on the 1943 comedy The More the Merrier, for which he was nominated for two Academy Awards. His other film credits include The Well-Groomed Bride (1946), Come September (1961) and Walk Don't Run (1966).
Russell graduated from the University of Southern California. During the Second World War he served in the Office of Strategic Services and received a Bronze Star. On Broadway he co-wrote the book for the musicals Take Me Along (1959) and Flora the Red Menace (1965). He also wrote more than thirty documentary, business and educational films.
He died in New York City on 11 February 1992.
