Biography

Robert W. Lenski was an American screenwriter. Born on a farm in Michigan in 1926, he served in the United States Marines during the Second World War, landing on Iwo Jima. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in English and journalism, then worked as a journalist in Jackson, Michigan, before moving into advertising and screenwriting in the early 1970s.

His credits included episodes of the series Kojak (1973), Mannix (1967) and Cannon (1971). He also wrote for miniseries and television films such as The Dain Curse (1978), Decoration Day (1990) and Breathing Lessons (1994). Lenski received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations for his writing between 1978 and 1994, and won an Edgar Allan Poe Award for The Dain Curse.

He died in Los Angeles in 2002.
