Biography

Robert John Wildhack (1881–1940) was an American actor, illustrator and monologist. Born in Pekin, Illinois, he worked as an illustrator for magazines including Life and Collier's, and contributed to wartime posters during the First World War. He developed a stage and radio career performing comic monologues that analysed snores, sneezes and other sounds.

Wildhack appeared on Broadway in the revue Life Begins at 8:40 (1934–1935). His film roles include The Snorer in Broadway Melody of 1936 (1935), The Sneezer in Broadway Melody of 1938 (1937) and Mr Herzing in Back Door to Heaven (1939). He died in California in 1940.
