Biography
Roberto Álvarez is a Spanish actor working in film, television and theatre. Born Roberto Álvarez Ruiz on 13 May 1956 in Gijón, Asturias, he trained and began his career in Spain.
He is known for roles including Doctor Vega in Pedro Almodóvar’s Talk to Her (2002), Manolo in Manolito Four Eyes (1999), Anastasio in Between Your Legs (1999), Almirante in Mad Love (2001), Burkard in The Borgia (2006) and Martín in Captain Thunder (2011). Television credits include Ernesto Ochoterena in Cuéntame cómo pasó, Miguel Martínez in The Ministry of Time and Arias Gonzalo in The Legend of El Cid (2020).
He has also appeared in stage productions and received GAVA awards for best actor in cinema (2015) and television (2014).
