Biography
Robin Harris (1953–1990) was an American comedian and actor. He appeared as Sweet Dick Willie in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing (1989), as Jerome in Harlem Nights (1989), as Pop in House Party (1990), and as Butterbean Jones in Mo' Better Blues (1990). He also played the bartender in I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988).
Harris was known for his stand-up routines, particularly the recurring sketch about Bé-bé's Kids, which inspired the 1992 animated film of the same name. He received a posthumous Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Male for House Party. Mo' Better Blues was dedicated to him following his death from a heart attack in Chicago.
