Biography
Rod Cameron (born Nathan Roderick Cox) was a Canadian film and television actor. Born in Calgary, Alberta, on 7 December 1910, he began his career in the late 1930s as a stuntman and bit player for Paramount Pictures before gaining prominence in the 1940s.
He appeared in serials such as G-Men vs. the Black Dragon (1943) and Secret Service in Darkest Africa (1943), and in feature films including Wake Island (1942), North West Mounted Police (1940) and Christmas in July (1940). Cameron starred in numerous Westerns and later in television series including City Detective (1953–1955), State Trooper (1956–1959) and Coronado 9 (1960–1961), with guest roles in series such as Bonanza, Perry Mason and The Rockford Files.
He died in Gainesville, Georgia, on 21 December 1983.
