Biography
Roef Ragas was a Dutch actor. He studied Dutch Modern Literature, Philosophy and Dramaturgy at the University of Amsterdam before training at the Amsterdam Drama School, from which he graduated in 1994. He worked in theatre as well as film and television.
Ragas appeared as Pim in Lars von Trier's Breaking the Waves (1996). His other screen credits include the role of Det. Rinus de Gier in the Dutch television series Grijpstra & De Gier (2004–2006) and parts in films such as Peter Bell (2002) and The Polish Bride (1998).
He was married to actress Susan Visser from 1990 until his death. Ragas died of cardiac arrest in Amsterdam on 30 August 2007, aged 42.
