Biography
Roland Curram (1932–2025) was an English actor and author. He appeared in films including Dunkirk (1958) and Darling (1965), in which he played Malcolm, the gay photographer and travelling companion to Julie Christie’s character.
Curram trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and worked in repertory theatre before building a career in film, television and stage. His television roles included Rupert Warner in the 1976 series Bouquet of Barbed Wire and Freddie Martin in the BBC soap Eldorado (1992–1993). He was married to actress Sheila Gish from 1964 to 1985; they had two daughters, actors Lou Gish and Kay Curram. Curram came out as gay in the early 1990s and later wrote several novels.
