Biography

Ronald Roose was a film editor whose career spanned several decades. He began in the industry as a lighting technician before working as an assistant editor under Dede Allen on Serpico (1973) and Night Moves (1975). He later contributed to sound editing on The Wiz (1978) and made his debut as a lead editor on The Wanderers (1979).

Roose edited numerous feature films, including The World According to Garp (1982), Easy Money (1983), Volunteers (1985), Company Business (1991), Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), Hoffa (1992), The Next Karate Kid (1994), Almost Heroes (1998) and Whatever It Takes (2000). He also worked as a sound editor on The Princess Bride (1987) and edited episodes of the television series The Equalizer. He received a story credit for Collateral Damage (2002).

Roose collaborated several times with director Nicholas Meyer, including on the HBO film Vendetta (1999). He died on 15 September 2021.
