Biography
Ronald Zehrfeld is a German actor. He was born on 15 January 1977 in East Berlin. He studied acting at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin after initially studying German studies and political science at Humboldt University.
Zehrfeld began his career in theatre at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble and the St. Pauli Theater in Hamburg. His film debut came in 2005 with a lead role in Dominik Graf's The Red Cockatoo. He has since appeared in Christian Petzold's Barbara (2012) and Phoenix (2014), and in The People vs. Fritz Bauer (2015), for which he received the German Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.
On television he has played Walter Weintraub in Babylon Berlin (from 2017) and starred in series including Im Angesicht des Verbrechens (2010) and the Dengler films.
