Biography

Ronnie Golden, also known as Tony De Meur, is a British singer, guitarist, comedian and actor. He founded the band The Fabulous Poodles and later performed as a comedian with The Comic Strip, appearing regularly at The Comedy Store and on the London alternative comedy circuit from the early 1980s.

He is known for his role as Buddy Holly in the second episode of the BBC series The Young Ones (1982). Other screen credits include The Fourth Protocol (1987) as the Busker and voice work on Spitting Image. Golden fronts the R&B and soul group Ronnie and the Rex, writes songs and sketches for BBC Radio 4's The Right Time, and has collaborated musically with Barry Cryer, including a 2009 performance broadcast on BBC Four in 2010.
