Biography
Ronny Schalk is a German screenwriter. He studied media and communication science at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and screenwriting at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg. He has worked as a freelance writer since 2008.
Schalk wrote the screenplay for the feature film Wir wollten aufs Meer (2012). He contributed to the writers’ room for the first two seasons of the Netflix series Dark (2017–2019) and served as head writer on Oktoberfest: Beer & Blood (2020). The first season of Dark received the Grimme-Preis for best screenplay in 2018.
