Biography
Rory Keenan is an Irish actor born in Dublin. He studied at Trinity College Dublin and began performing in theatre from an early age, including leading roles at the Abbey Theatre. He has appeared in numerous National Theatre productions and West End shows, and won the Irish Times Theatre Award for Best Actor for his performance as Macbeth.
His film credits include Reign of Fire (2002), Ella Enchanted (2004), The Guard (2011) as Garda Aidan McBride, and Power Ballad (2026) as Binzer. On television he has appeared in Peaky Blinders (2013) as Donal, War and Peace (2016) as Bilibin, The Duchess (2020), Somewhere Boy (2022), The Regime (2024) as Peter, and Blackshore (2024). He also featured in the Oscar-nominated short film The Crush (2010) and wrote and directed the short Bump (2022).
Keenan is married to actress Gemma Arterton.
