Biography
Rosalind Harris is an American actress known for her work in theatre and film. Born on 22 December 1946 in White Plains, New York, she played Tzeitel, the eldest daughter of Tevye, in the 1971 film adaptation of Fiddler on the Roof. She had previously replaced Bette Midler in the role on Broadway.
Harris appeared as Fanny Brice in the 1984 film The Cotton Club and as Mrs Lowenstein in the 1996 television film Mrs. Santa Claus. She later played Golde in a touring stage revival of Fiddler on the Roof opposite Chaim Topol. Her theatre credits include leading roles in productions such as Man of La Mancha, Gypsy and Funny Girl, and she received a Clio Award for a television commercial.
