Biography
Roy H. Wagner is an American cinematographer. Born on 12 January 1947, he began his career after moving to Los Angeles, where he was mentored by established cinematographers including Harry Stradling Sr. He studied with Ansel Adams and later became a member of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Wagner has worked on numerous television series and feature films. His television credits include episodes of Beauty and the Beast (1987), Quantum Leap (1989), CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000–01), House (2005–06), Elementary (2013) and Ray Donovan (2016). Feature film credits include A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), Drop Zone (1994) and Nick of Time (1995).
He has received two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Cinematography for a Series, an ASC Award for Outstanding Achievement in Cinematography for a Miniseries, and the Producers Guild Vision Award. In 2024 he co-authored an autobiography with Wayne Byrne.
