Biography
Rubén González was a Cuban pianist. He was born on 26 May 1919 in Santa Clara and died on 8 December 2003 in Havana.
He began his professional career in the 1940s, performing with orchestras led by Arsenio Rodríguez and Enrique Jorrín among others. After retiring in the 1980s he returned to recording in the mid-1990s.
González appeared as himself in the 1999 documentary film Buena Vista Social Club. He also recorded the solo album Introducing Rubén González (1997) and performed with the Afro-Cuban All Stars.
