Biography
Ruben Impens is a Belgian cinematographer. He is best known for his collaborations with directors Felix van Groeningen and Julia Ducournau, having worked as director of photography on all of their feature films.
He has also worked on documentaries, short films and television programmes, including an episode of Black Mirror (2016). Impens received the Kodak Award for Best Cinematography at the Hamptons International Film Festival for The Misfortunates (2009), the Ensor Award for Best Cinematography for The Broken Circle Breakdown (2012) and the Magritte Award for Best Cinematography for Titane (2021). In 2022 he was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
