Biography
Rudolf Blümner was a German actor, reciter, dramaturg and essayist. He studied law from 1892 to 1896, left the civil service in 1899 to pursue acting, and worked as a speech teacher before joining the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater in Berlin from 1906 to 1912.
Blümner appeared in silent films including Der Golem (1915) and Sylvester (1924), and in sound films such as M (1931), in which he played Beckert's defender, and Der Hauptmann von Köpenick (1931). He was also active in the expressionist Sturm circle as a reciter and contributor to the journal Der Sturm. He died in Berlin on 3 September 1945.
