Biography
Rudolf Lettinger (also credited as Rudolph Lettinger) was a German stage and film actor. He made his stage debut in 1883 as Kosinsky in Schiller's The Robbers and later worked with director Max Reinhardt. Among his notable stage roles were Cyrano de Bergerac and Gessler in William Tell.
Lettinger entered films in 1912 with Das Geheimnis von Monte Carlo. He appeared in more than ninety films until 1931, usually in supporting parts. He is best known for playing Dr. Olsen in The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) and John Terry in The Spiders (1919–1920).
He was born on 26 October 1865 in Hamburg and died on 21 March 1937 in Berlin-Schöneberg. He was married to Maria Wendt.
