Biography
Rudolf Sieber was a screenwriter and production manager. He received an uncredited co-writing credit, alongside Edwin J. Burke, on the 1931 Fox film Bad Girl, directed by Frank Borzage and adapted from a novel and play by Viña Delmar.
Sieber worked in the German film industry from the early 1920s, serving as production manager or assistant director on several silent features including Der Mönch von Santarem (1924), Schatten der Weltstadt (1925) and Luther – Ein Film der deutschen Reformation (1927). He later moved to the United States.
In 1923 he married actress Marlene Dietrich in Berlin; the couple had a daughter, Maria Riva, born in 1924. They remained married until Sieber's death in 1976, though they separated in the mid-1930s. From 1953 he lived on a poultry farm in California's San Fernando Valley.
