Biography
Rusty Cundieff is an American film and television director, writer and actor. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Southern California and became a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity. He began his career as an actor, appearing in Spike Lee's School Daze (1988), before moving into writing and directing.
Cundieff is known for directing and writing the rap satire Fear of a Black Hat (1993) and the horror anthology Tales from the Hood (1995), as well as directing episodes of Chappelle's Show (2003–2006). He directed a segment of the anthology comedy Movie 43 (2013) and later features including Tales from the Hood 2 (2018), 57 Seconds (2023) and Meet Me Next Christmas (2024). He has also worked as a correspondent on TV Nation.
