Biography
Ryūta Kawahara is a Japanese anime director and storyboard artist. He began working in animation production around 2015, initially with Sunrise, before taking on directing roles. He is affiliated with studio BAKKKA.
Kawahara has served as episode director on series including Attack on Titan (2018), The Ancient Magus' Bride (2017), Overlord (2018), The Promised Neverland (2019), 86 EIGHTY-SIX (2021–2022), Blue Period (2021) and Dragon Ball DAIMA (2024–2025). He has also contributed storyboards and unit direction to several titles.
