Biography
Sam Laybourne is a television writer and producer. He began his career as a staff writer on the third season of Arrested Development (2003) in 2005.
Born in 1974 in the USA, Laybourne graduated from Wesleyan University and earned a master's degree in teaching from Columbia University. He worked as an English teacher at the Beacon School in New York before moving into television writing. His parents, Geraldine Laybourne and Kit Laybourne, both have extensive backgrounds in television production.
Laybourne has written episodes for series including Cougar Town (2009), The Michael J. Fox Show (2013), Black-ish (2014), Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020) and Acapulco (2021). He has served as a producer or co-executive producer on several of these shows and received Primetime Emmy and Writers Guild of America nominations.
