Biography

Sam Shaw (1912–1999) was an American film producer and photographer. Born in New York City on 15 January 1912, he worked as a still photographer on numerous films and magazine assignments before moving into production.

He produced Paris Blues (1961) and collaborated extensively with director John Cassavetes. His credits include associate producer on Husbands (1970), producer on A Woman Under the Influence (1974), executive producer on Opening Night (1977) and producer on Gloria (1980). He also contributed as a title designer and production designer on several projects. Shaw died in Westwood, New Jersey, on 5 April 1999.
