Biography
Samir Guesmi is a French actor and film director. He was born on 7 October 1967 in Paris and began his career in 1988. He trained in drama and appeared on stage before gaining recognition for his lead role in the 1996 comedy Malik le maudit, for which he received the Michel Simon Prize and the Best Actor award at the Amiens International Film Festival.
Guesmi is known for his television roles as a drug dealer in Spiral (2008) and as Thomas Mézache in the series The Returned (2012–15). His film credits include District B13 (2004), Tell No One (2006), Camille Rewinds (2012), for which he was nominated for the César Award for Best Supporting Actor, The Transporter Refueled (2015) and In the Name of the Land (2019). He has also directed the short film C'est dimanche! (2008) and the feature Ibrahim (2020).
