Biography
Sandra Goldbacher is a British film and television director and screenwriter. Born in London in 1960, she studied French literature at Sussex University and film and video at Middlesex University.
She began her career directing commercials and documentaries before making her feature debut with The Governess (1998), which she also wrote; the film earned her a BAFTA nomination for best newcomer. Her second feature, Me Without You (2001), which she co-wrote, followed. On television she has directed the adaptation Ballet Shoes (2007) and episodes of The Hour (2012), Endeavour (2016), Victoria (2016) and Ordeal by Innocence (2018).
