Biography
Sandy Dennis was an American actress. She made her film debut in Splendor in the Grass (1961) and appeared as Honey in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? (1966), for which she received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
On stage she won Tony Awards for Best Featured Actress in a Play for A Thousand Clowns and for Best Actress in a Play for Any Wednesday. She also appeared in the original Broadway production of Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.
Her other film roles include Up the Down Staircase (1967), The Out-of-Towners (1970), God Told Me To (1976), The Four Seasons (1981), Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean (1982), Another Woman (1988) and The Indian Runner (1991).
