Biography
Sandy McLeod is an American independent filmmaker, script supervisor and occasional actress. Born in Pontiac, Michigan and raised in Alabama, she moved to New York City in her late teens. She worked as a script supervisor on numerous feature films for over fifteen years, including Romancing the Stone (1984), Something Wild (1986), Eddie Murphy Raw (1987) and Light Sleeper (1992), collaborating with directors such as Jonathan Demme, Paul Schrader and John Sayles.
McLeod also appeared in small acting roles, notably as Graves' Secretary in Something Wild (1986) and in Demme's Last Embrace (1979). She served as second unit director on Sayles's Limbo (1999) and Silver City (2004). As a director she has made the Academy Award-nominated short documentary Asylum (2003) and the feature documentary Seeds of Time (2013).
