Biography
Sanford 'Sandy' Lieberson is an American film producer and educator based in Britain since 1965. He began his career as a talent agent at the William Morris Agency in the United States, representing clients including Sergio Leone, Peter Sellers, Richard Harris and the Rolling Stones. He worked in Rome from 1961 before moving to the United Kingdom.
In 1968 Lieberson founded Goodtimes Enterprises, which produced Performance (1970). He later formed Umbrella Entertainment and produced films including Jabberwocky (1977) and Rita, Sue and Bob Too (1987). He held senior production roles at 20th Century Fox, The Ladd Company and Goldcrest Films, and served as head of the producing department at the National Film and Television School. Lieberson was the inaugural chair of Film London from 2003. He received the BIFA Special Jury Prize in 2005 and an honorary CBE in 2012.
