Biography
Sanshō Shinsui was a Japanese actor. Born on 5 May 1947 in Kumamoto Prefecture, he died on 30 December 2017 in Tokyo.
He began his career in theatre with the group Tokyo Kid Brothers and in 1975 founded the troupe Mr. Slim Company. His screen debut came in 1978 in the Nikkatsu Roman Porno film Jokōsei Tenshi no Harawata.
Shinsui appeared regularly in the films of Shōhei Imamura, including as Zeniya Tadayan in The Ballad of Narayama (1983), in Black Rain (1989) and as the doctor in The Eel (1997). He also featured in Eijanaika (1981).
