Biography
Sara Wiseman is a New Zealand actress. Born in Auckland on 27 May 1972, she trained at the Unitec School of Performing Arts and began her career with stunt work before moving into acting. She has appeared in both New Zealand and Australian productions across film, television and theatre.
She is known for her role as Dar in the film Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024). Other credits include Carolyn Bligh in the series A Place to Call Home (2013–2018), Dr Nicky Somerville in Mercy Peak (2001–2004), and appearances in Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, One Lane Bridge and High Country. She has received several acting awards in New Zealand.
Wiseman co-founded the New Zealand drama school The Actors Program in 2012, where she has also taught.
