Biography
Sarah Gavron is a British film director. She graduated from the University of York with a BA in English in 1992 and an MA in film studies from Edinburgh College of Art. She worked for the BBC in documentaries for three years before studying feature film directing at the National Film and Television School in London.
Her credits include the television drama This Little Life (2003), for which she won a BAFTA for Best New Director (Fiction), the feature films Brick Lane (2007), Suffragette (2015) and Rocks (2019), the documentary Village at the End of the World (2012), and an episode of the series Transparent (2017). She is the daughter of Robert Gavron and Nicky Gavron, and is married to cinematographer David Katznelson.
