Biography
Sarah Hyland, also credited as Sarah Jane Hyland, is an American actress. She was born on 24 November 1990 in New York City and attended the Professional Performing Arts School. Her parents are actors Melissa Canaday and Edward James Hyland, and her brother Ian Hyland is also an actor.
Hyland began acting as a child, with early film roles in Private Parts (1997) and the television film Annie (1999), followed by a Broadway appearance in Grey Gardens (2006). She is best known for portraying Haley Dunphy in the ABC sitcom Modern Family (2009–2020). She has also appeared in films including Geek Charming (2011), Scary Movie 5 (2013) and Vampire Academy (2014). With the Modern Family cast, she shared four Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
