Biography
Saro Urzì (born Rosario Urzì) was an Italian actor. Born in Catania, Sicily, on 24 February 1913, he died on 1 November 1979 in San Giuseppe Vesuviano, Campania.
He began his career in the late 1930s and became known for character roles, particularly in films directed by Pietro Germi. He appeared in the Don Camillo series as Brusco and played the Captain of SS Nyanga in John Huston's Beat the Devil (1953). Other notable credits include Seduced and Abandoned (1964), for which he received the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor, and The Godfather (1972) as Signor Vitelli.
