Biography
Satoshi Tsumabuki is a Japanese actor. Born on 13 December 1980 in Yanagawa, Fukuoka, he made his screen debut in the late 1990s and achieved his breakthrough with the lead role in the 2001 film Waterboys. For that performance he received a nomination for Best Actor at the Japan Academy Film Prizes and won the Newcomer of the Year award.
He has since appeared in numerous Japanese and international productions, including Josee, the Tiger and the Fish (2003), Dororo (2007), The World of Kanako (2014), The Assassin (2015) as the Mirror Polisher, and the Detective Chinatown series (2018–2021). Tsumabuki is also the bassist and lead singer of the band Basking Lite.
